JOB TITLE: MARKET AREA – TREASURY & TAX MANAGER, SOUTH AFRICA
We are seeking a Market Area - Treasury and Tax Manager to join our Finance Team. The successful candidate will ensure the proper recording, reporting and analyzing of all financial results of Metso in accordance with Metso management accounting policies and reporting procedures.
This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO
You will join the Finance team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Business Areas (BA), Africa Market Area (MA), auditors and Shared Services Centre based in Lithuania.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide relevant and accurate financial information and business analysis for management decision making, planning, target setting, change management and controlling purposes.
- Full responsibility for Market Area Treasury and Tax Management, including:
- Drafting of Annual Financial Statements for all legal entities based in South Africa (Full IFRS).
- Compiling and submissions of corporate income tax returns.
- Completing of quarterly and year-end tax schedules for group reporting.
- Keeping tax returns and accounts up to date for tax compliance.
- Calculation and submissions of monthly indirect taxes.
- Calculation and submission of provisional tax returns.
- Liaising with the South African Revenue Services (“SARS”) and tax consultants on various audits.
- Be the main contact for the Company with the South African Revenue Services as well as the South African Reserve Bank.
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance investigations within Market Area Africa and reporting.
- Reporting to the local Finance Director for Market Area Africa on status updates relating to tax and statutory audits.
- Administration function of local bank accounts and bank user setup.
- Assisting payroll monthly review of variance reports and loading of salaries and payroll taxes.
- Working capital management / Cash Flow planning / Liaising with corporate treasury function.
- Leading a local Foreign Accounts Payable team in South Africa with exchange control regulations.
- Primary CitiBank Commercial Cards Program Administrator.
- Planning and coordination of Financial Audits as well as internal Audits.
- Advise managers of proper accounting treatment of various accounting issues.
- Perform other duties and/or other special projects as required.
- This position may require international and domestic travel.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities.
WHO YOU ARE
- Matric (Grade 12).
- A four (4) year Bachelor of Commerce’s degree with a major in accounting and/or TAX.
- Registered SARS Tax Practitioner.
- Full member of a registered Professional Body.
- Experience in accounting in a global multi-product line environment helpful.
- Change management experience and knowledge how to ramp up profitability and growth.

- Continually review accounting systems and controls and make suggestions for improvements.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting information.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language atmosphere.
