An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant - Treasury and Assets at I&J, Woodstock, Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate accounting and administration of the I&J Treasury function and Fixed Assets registers.

Key Performance Areas:
Management of the accounting and administration of I&J Treasury
- Ensure that all Treasury payments and transfers are processed and released on time.
- Management of inputs for daily and 8-week cash flow forecast and review thereof.
- Monitor cash levels in bank accounts according to set guidelines.
- Raise monthly interest accruals on I&J Group bank accounts.
- Review and sign off of bank reconciliations for all I&J bank accounts.
Oversee and review the I&J fixed asset and accounting process - Tracking of asset acquisition and disposal workflows and follow up on open workflows.
- Provide a weekly status update to the Commercial Financial Manager on fixed asset movements.
- Review assets created and costs allocated prior to month-end for accuracy of masterdata and cost allocation.
- Oversee fixed asset register clean-up and maintenance process.
- Liaise with all finance managers for forecast and budget inputs and consolidate the inputs received.
Management of the inventory control and reconciliation process - Perform the financial checks and controls on a monthly basis on materials masterdata for accuracy and
- completeness.
- Manage and review stock age analysis & critical shelf life expiry dates.
- Review monthly report on co-packing stock and query material variances.
- Assist with budget and forecast stock calculations.
- Provide board reports on stock balances as required.
Leadership and effective management - Ensure proper talent management in team.
- Ensure that the vision, values and business direction are embraced by direct reports.
- Review performance regularly and give recognition where it is due and deal with performance issues.
Minimum Requirements: Experience: - Minimum 5 years’ experience within a financial accounting and financial systems environment
Qualifications: - Grade 12
- BCom Accounting Degree
Additional requirements: - Extensive work experience on SAP and Excel
- Overtime might be required during busy reporting periods
- Travel to various I&J sites around Cape Town CBD area
