- Responsibility for the implementation of the marine underwriting strategy within Marine Global Risks (Auto OEM, Commodities and Project Cargo)
- Development of coverage concepts in cooperation with our branch offices (co-underwriting)
- Decision regarding pricing and scope of cover
- Assumption of responsibility for the underwriting decision
- Portfolio steering regarding Marine Global Risks based on defined key performance indicators
- Implementation and maintenance of underwriting guidelines and standards (expert groups, audit, UW governance)
- Promoting collaboration with related functions in home office as well as between home office and branch offices
- Supporting the training and professional development of underwriters
- Completed training in insurance and finance and further training as an insurance specialist or completed studies with a focus on business administration or law or logistics
- Experience in marine underwriting, especially cargo, stock throughput and corporate risks
- Analytical skills and numerical reasoning
- Strong communication skills in conducting talks and negotiations
- Fluent in written and spoken English, other foreign languages welcome
- Willingness to travel within and outside Europe
