About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Key Individual (KI) to join our team, authorized to act under the South African Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act. This role requires a qualified individual with in depth knowledge of financial products in Category I, including derivative instruments, forex investments, long term and short term deposits, and crypto assets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the compliance and regulatory requirements in line with FAIS legislation, ensuring alignment with both organizational objectives and statutory guidelines. Responsibilities: Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with FAIS requirements, conducting regular audits and implementing controls to maintain adherence to statutory and industry standards. Governance & Compliance: Oversee and manage the operational, governance, and regulatory aspects for Category I products, especially derivative instruments, forex investments, long term and short term deposits, and crypto assets. Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and manage risk associated with financial advice and intermediary services, in alignment with the companys risk appetite and regulatory obligations. Training & Supervision: Provide training and guidance to Representatives to ensure compliance with FAIS regulations and best practices, maintaining high standards of advisory services. Product Knowledge & Advisory Oversight: Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge in derivatives, forex, deposits, and crypto, ensuring accurate, compliant advisory services. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update internal compliance and risk policies in line with FAIS standards and FSCA guidance. Reporting & Liaison: Prepare regular compliance and risk reports for management and the FSCA, and liaise with regulators as required. Why Join Us? Qualifications & Experience: FAIS Key Individual Certification: Authorized and certified to act as a Key Individual for Category I products (RE1 and RE5). Relevant Qualification: Tertiary education Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a financial services environment, with at least 1 years in a Key Individual role. Product Specific Knowledge: Proven expertise in derivative instruments, forex investments, long term and short-term deposits, and crypto assets and well as minimum CPD. Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of FAIS, FSCA guidelines, and other applicable South African financial services regulations. Skills & Competencies: Analytical & Detail Oriented: Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure high compliance standards. Leadership: Effective leadership skills to guide and manage Representatives and ensure compliance across advisory services.
