PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The main purpose of this position as a Logistics Administrator is to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain processes. This entry-level position involves coordinating logistics activities, supporting procurement tasks, and assisting with various supply chain functions. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams. This position is integral to optimizing our supply chain operations and achieving our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate transportation, liaise with warehousing for receiving and dispatch of finished goods.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Procurement Support:
- Assist in the procurement admin related activities.
- Assist in supplier onboard documentation follow ups.
- Assist with month end operation and processing activities.
- Identify potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain.
- Assist in implementing contingency plans to mitigate risks.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and supply chain operations.
- Relationship Management:
- Communicate with internal departments regarding orders and shipment updates.
- Resolve customer issues related to logistics and supply chain.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Support special projects and initiatives within the supply chain department.
To also ensure that their job goals are completed by striving for Quality, Trust and Security at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this role under the “Yes4Youth” Learnership program, the following requirements are non-negotiable:
- Ideal candidates should be unemployed at the time of contracting.
- Must qualify as Youth candidates and therefore must be between the age of 18 – 34 (Must not be turning 35 during the program).
- Must meet the definition of “Black People,” as defined in the Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act 53 of 2003, as amended by Act 46 of 213.
- Must not have previously participated in a “Yes4Youth” program.
MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, CIPS) are an added advantage. Have a completed Matric with at least 60% in English, 60% in Business Administration or a related field, and 60% in Mathematics OR 60% in Maths Literacy.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2-3 years or more experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain or similar role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES:
- Must possess strong Supply Chain/Logistics/Procurement acumen.
- Must be a problem solver.
- Excellent communication, organizational, writing as well as interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Is highly self-motivated and with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong computer skills (Email/internet, MS Office, HRIS systems and HR related programs).
