Position overview:
We are looking for a versatile and adaptable Strategist with expertise in Brand, Digital and Communications Strategy, capable of working across multiple industries and a vast understanding of all digital platforms and related technologies. This individual will play a critical role in driving strategic direction for clients, balancing creative vision with practical, budget-conscious solutions. The Strategist will also collaborate closely with our teams both internal and external to estimate project costs based on CBR’s rate card and play a key role in new business acquisition.
Key responsibilities:
- Brand and communications strategy: Develop and implement brand and communication strategies tailored to the client’s objectives, focusing on enhancing brand positioning and engagement. This will include research, direction and a focus on key deliverables aligned to client expectations.
- Collaborative strategy development: Work closely with the Creative, Content, social media, Client Services and Performance Marketing teams to ensure strategies are executable within client budgets and leverage our full digital marketing toolbox. Keep a close eye on performance and trends, with the ability to direct and make recommendations to improve achievement of objectives.
- Cost estimation: Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and estimate costs for proposed strategies, ensuring alignment with CBR’s rate card and assigned SLAs.
- Support new business development: Develop strategic engagements and proposals that help drive new business acquisition, presenting clear strategies and cost estimates to potential clients. This will include presenting to both internal teams and clients for overview and approval.
- Budget-conscious solutions: Provide innovative and effective strategies that work within the budget constraints of lower-budget clients, ensuring valuable outcomes even with limited resources.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to ensure strategies meet their guidelines and objectives, and remain flexible to feedback from both clients and internal teams.
- Meeting KPIs: Ensure that strategies are delivered on time, meet client expectations, and reflect a deep understanding of client briefs.
- Adaptability and flexibility: Display openness to feedback from both clients and internal teams, ensuring strategies remain flexible and can be adjusted based on evolving needs.
- Digital knowledge and trends: Ensure a continuous focus and understanding of all digital marketing aspects, guiding and informing internal teams, driving recommendations to Client Services based on specific industries related to client portfolios.
- Complete any other reasonable task as directed by Manager and/or CEO.
Key skills and experience:
- Five-plus years of experience in brand, communications, or digital marketing strategy, preferably in a small-to-medium-sized agency environment. Coupled with related degrees and/or relevant digital certifications.
- Proven experience in developing strategies across a variety of industries, with the ability to adapt to different client needs.
- Experience estimating project costs and working with rate cards.
- Excellent collaborative skills, with the ability to work across Creative, Digital, and Paid Media teams.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and the ability to integrate them into holistic strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to both internal teams and clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work within tight deadlines and manage ad-hoc requests.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ensure timesheets are completed accurately and on time.
- A proactive, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset.
