A Government Corporate Client requires a Staff Nurse (Grade 1) to assist clients with activities of daily living (physical care). Responsibilities include:
- Providing elementary clinical nursing care.
- Maintaining professional growth, ethical standards, and self-development.
- Caring for clients' basic needs, including nutrition, safety and security, hygiene, skin integrity, elimination, and comfort.
- Addressing communication, rest and sleep, social, aesthetic, and emotional needs.
- Measuring, interpreting, and recording vital signs.
- Observing clients for changes in condition or behavior and reporting changes.
- Providing fundamental nursing care and treatment to individual patients on the instruction of a professional or physician.
- Providing education to patients regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care.
- Assisting the professional nurse with the resuscitation of patients.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 plus two years PEN 2 Certificate that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council, along with less than 3 years of appropriate nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Staff Enrolled Nurse.
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Nursing Assistant. Competencies include knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and relevant legal frameworks such as the Nursing Act, Health Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patient Rights Charter, Batho-pele principles, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code and Procedure, and Grievance Procedure. Elementary communication skills, writing skills, the ability to function as part of a team, and interpersonal skills are also required. A valid driver's license will serve as an advantage.
