Job Overview
This role is critical in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for the company. You will follow
procurement procedures, maintain the back order report, ensure that timely and accurate deliveries are done,
and ensure that we procure from a list of approved suppliers which comply with our requirements and
expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Able to procure according to an approved Bill of Quantity (BOQ)
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data
- Able to appoint suppliers based on a predetermined and approved selection criteria
- Review and analyse all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
- Reconcile supplier invoices versus quotations
- Manage all partial orders to completion
- Procurement of imported products
- Maintenance and management of the backorder reports on projects
- Ensure that deliveries are scheduled and delivered on time per project
- Work closely with storeman in terms of inventory management and control in order to maintain acceptable
stock levels
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Five or more years’ experience in procurement
- Must have extensive experience in the construction / projects environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, systems and document flows.
