Job Title: Duty Responsible Pharmacist

A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Duty Responsible Pharmacist to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
- Ensuring compliance with all the provisions of the Act 101 of 1965; Pharmacy Act, Act 53 of 1973 and all regulations and guidelines pertaining to the Wholesale license for medicinal products and Good Wholesaling/Distribution and Good Housekeeping Practices and Good Pharmacy Practice.
- Supervision of purchasing, acquiring, importing, keeping, possessing, using, releasing, storage, packaging, supplying or selling of any medicine or schedule substance or the supervision thereof.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance to: Act 101 of 1965; Pharmacy Act 53 of 1973 SAHPRA std and GWP/PICS/WHO guidelines, OSH act.
- Assisting the Responsible Pharmacist (RP) with all tasks where required.
- Deputize the Responsible Pharmacist (RP) by performing all RP duties and accepting responsibility as stand in RP in the absence of the RP.
- Quality systems/SOPs drafting, training, maintaining and distribution.
- Product Release (based on Applicant release).
- Audits (preparation and correcting any non-conformances found) and CAPA initiation and close-out.
- Raise, maintain and monitor deviations, change controls and CAPA’s as well as trackers.
- Supply and maintain SS5 & S6 stock and Registers.
- Supply and maintain section 21 items.
- Assist with stock take.
- Dedicated storage area management (Damages, Quarantine, Returns, Cold Store & Schedule Stores).
- Management of retention samples.
- Manage process for the destruction of stock.
- Maintenance and management of reverse logistics (RETURNS).
- Conducting Self-Inspections and reporting on any deficiencies.
- Conducting Risk Assessments.
- To implement and train on Quality systems, SOPs and GDP.
- Pharmacovigilance reporting.
- Fine checking and sampling of 3rd party stock.
- Receipt, releasing, picking and packing of S5 & S6 orders.
- Performing duties and tasks as delegated by the Responsible Pharmacist.
- After hours call out in case of fridge failure or emergency orders.
- Validation plan implemented, monitored and maintained.
- Lot status updates in the Warehouse Management System.
- Ensuring that weekly housekeeping checks are done and deficiencies are reported to the line manager and corrected.
- Ensuring a pharmacist is present during warehouse operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (BPharm).
- Active member with SAPC.
- Computer Literacy in MS Office.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant experience within a pharmaceutical distribution/wholesale environment.
- Experience in Quality Management Systems would be an advantage.
- Oracle R12 experience would be an advantage.
