About the role
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor with a dotted line to the Quality Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for Quality Control and Inspection of Products being produced and ensure that all quality checks are performed and recorded according to Company Practices and Processes/Procedures. This will include the handling of line rejects, as required.
- Ensure that problems on jobs are referred to the relevant head of department
- Monitor Process Parameters and Product Quality on a 2 hourly basis
- Control process parameter documents on the line to ensure correct standards are adhered to
- Monitor quality performance, as required
- Ensure that all changes that are done have correct documentation
- Ensure that all quality checks are done and recorded
- Manage and clear quarantined material daily
- Report all problems to management
- Coaching of Operators on Quality and related aspects
- Conduct first-off measurements and samples
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Identification of non-conformances
- Maintain master samples and register
- Maintain validation tools and register
- Understand product specs
- Understand product drawing and measurements

Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Quality Control qualification would be an advantage
- 3 to 4 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality procedures and systems
- Ability to work with laboratory and other Quality Control instruments in the correct manner
- Well disciplined, organised and a high attention to detail
- Good mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Good command of English
- Prepared to work shifts
- Influence and assertiveness as far as Quality is concerned
