Duties & Responsibilities
About: Assist the Data Science and Analytics team in developing and implementing data-driven monitoring, measurement, insights, and decision support is the role of the Data Scientist. By offering insights, using data science to optimize and inform decision-making, and developing automated predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions that support a range of business operations and tackle healthcare issues, this person will bring value to business domains. The position necessitates participation in the entire data science development process, which includes understanding the business, defining the issue, cleaning and feature engineering the data, business modeling and simulation, developing and testing hypotheses, training machine learning models, refining and testing the models, and finally deploying and tracking the expected results within the business solutions.
Job Responsibilities/KPAs:
- Determine and evaluate cutting-edge data science methods that can be used to all company predictive analytics products.
- Help with data science trends research, particularly for applications in the healthcare sector.
- Involve business stakeholders in the discovery phase to pinpoint the opportunity or business challenge, gather requirements, and talk about the anticipated results of modeling and solutions.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to identify solutions for addressing important business issues and concentrate on creating fresh business plans.
- Help in creating conceptual models or designs to meet corporate needs.
- Work along with subject matter specialists to identify pertinent data sources and comprehend business needs to guarantee that the models are supplied in a suitable way.
- Examine and revise all data science-related policies.
- Present trends, correlations, and patterns uncovered in complex datasets in a way that succinctly and clearly conveys significant insights and supports recommendations to business people in a variety of roles and skill levels.
- Provide management with succinct reports that include pertinent visuals and discussion.
Role Requirements:
- Degree (Honours, Masters or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and / or a combination of these.
- Relevant data science certifications such as Python, Microsoft, AWS, Hadoop, big data, machine learning, cloud infrastructure.
- Minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in data science related projects.
- Experience with Python/Microsoft ML and tools available within the machine learning ecosystem (i.e. Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, SciPy stack) and working in Jupyter notebooks.
- Experience with SQL and working with large-scale data sets.
- Knowledge and practical experience applying machine learning techniques.
- Experience working in agile development teams.
- Experience in operationalising data science solutions or similar product development.
- Experience in a high-scale production environment is critical.
Salary: R55 000.00 - R66 000.00 - Monthly plus Fully Remote, Pension, Medical Aid
