Procurement Officer / Technical Buyer Somerset West
Were looking for a passionate individual to enhance our Operations Team, specializing in the procurement of electronics and mechanics for our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Request quotations and order materials from approved suppliers to meet production demands.
- Maintain optimal material levels and ensure accurate documentation in the ERP system.
- Create and submit Purchase Orders for approval in a timely manner.
- Evaluate external providers for compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Conduct incoming inspections of received materials.
- Capture purchased stock and materials in the ERP system.
- Address supplier queries promptly and efficiently.
- Communicate vendor and supplier updates to team members and management.
- Maintain and update supplier information, including qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges.
- Adhere to current company procurement procedures and policies.
- Perform additional support roles as required within the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing or equivalent experience (10+ years).
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 2-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and associated challenges.
- Proactive in managing technical queries between suppliers and engineers.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in procuring electronic components.
- Familiarity with coordinating international shipping from suppliers.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.

- Quick learner with the ability to absorb new information rapidly.
- Team player with the capability to collaborate on large projects.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High standard of communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
