The role of the Business Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the customer needs are met along the customer journey, as well as providing the highest caliber of service and experience to the customer in order to grow our client''''s On Trade in Bloemfontein. The individual would work in line with a weekly schedule, hand-in-hand work with our local, key distributor for the region and will also include over-arching responsibilities of looking after the On-Trades National and Regional Key accounts based in Bloemfontein.
Main Purpose/Objectives of the Job:
Develop and grow our client''''s On-Trade business as well as some of the national and regional key accounts based in Bloemfontein to assist in meeting required sales KPIs.
Have a comprehensive knowledge of the product and pricing portfolio.
Plan for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly trade effectiveness.
Execute and manage effective pricing, promotional, incentive programs and calendars to ensure that business sales and merchandising promotional activity goals are met.
Grow brand reach by being able to successfully negotiate and secure new listings.
Conduct quarterly business review/planning meetings with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Keep all key account, commercial, analytical, and other work-related administration updated.
Develop understanding and utilization of the Skynamo sales force tool.
Develop the financial shape of your allocated customer base.
Sourcing and growing of new customers in the specified area with our distributor in the area.
Activation of required promotions and execution of marketing activities as and when required.
Supporting operational efficiencies.
Providing continuous feedback loops to enable business innovation and improvements
Carry out any other duty assigned by the management from time to time
The role requires solid sales experience, a valid drivers license, computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite), industry and product sales knowledge, commercial business acumen and strong negotiation skills. The Business Development Manager is required to display and use skills such as self-motivation, a drive for results, excellent customer and peer relationships, customer centricity, positive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, agility, and collaborative communication.
Education and Experience:
Completed Grade 12, relevant Diploma/Degree would be advantageous
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
Comprehensive understanding of the hospitality and restaurant environment
Understanding of budgets, targets, and strategic applications to achieve these
Solid negotiating skills
Should have desire to work in the fast-paced and agile FMCG market.
Must be based in Bloemfontein.
