Requirements
- 10 Years + experience within the L&D Design environment
- Experience of working in advisory (Consulting or Deals) in Professional Services.
- Experience of working within Learning and Development using adult learning theory, or working with L&D principles and approaches within prior roles and work.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills with experience of reaching consensus from diverse views.
- An understanding of digital learning solutions and Learning Technologies and how they can be used to add value and transform the way we learn.
- Highly energised and motivated to effect change and influence the firm’s approach to people development.
- Positive, can do attitude, particularly when dealing with ambiguity and ability to instil this in teams.
- Excellent project management, risk management & organisational skills.
- Strong analytical skills to effectively identify issues and be able to apply sound conclusions resulting in the right solution, at the right time and at the right cost.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and coaching a team, empowering them to achieve their potential.

About the Role
Responsible for the talent, development and coaching strategies for the firm, the Talent, Development & Coaching Centre of Excellence (TD&C CoE) partners with the business to deliver high quality development opportunities that enable both the firm’s strategic priorities and individual growth of our people. We are a team of well-connected people professionals who bring creativity, expertise and market insights and work with subject matter experts in our business to respond to the development needs of the firm.
Reporting into the LoS Portfolio and Strategy Lead, the Senior Design Consultant (SDC) will be responsible for leading the design and creation of programmes within the LoS portfolio. Based on the risk profile of a programme, this is likely to include using learning design methodologies and innovation and insights (from the Innovation and Investments Hub) to author content, review content prepared by Design Consultants (Managers) and Design Senior Associates, and the application of strong project and risk management skills.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the LoS Portfolio & Strategy Lead (PSL) and People Solutions Learning team to scope, resource and deliver the defined programme of work, unravelling conflicting priorities, anticipating risks and resolving issues.
- Hold relevant business relationships that are integral to programmatic design and the assessment of business impact including; programme sponsors, business stakeholders and content SMEs.
- Design and develop programmatic content via curation, in-house authoring and engagement of external suppliers within agreed timescales and budget parameters.
- Consistently follow and role model, the processes set by the Innovation & Investments Hub, in combination with content knowledge, to enable effective and efficient/ innovative learning design.
- Facilitate design workshops and tutor briefings where applicable.
- Review content written by Design Consultants to ensure the flow of the messages, whether all learning objectives have been met and whether there is an appropriate mix of delivery approaches adopted.
- Where applicable, author content of complex programmes or sessions.
- Undertake quality control of content for training materials to drive consistency.
- Monitor and manage project progress and risk profile, resolving and, where necessary, escalating issues.
- Analyse various strategic, operational and evaluation reporting at both a curriculum and programme level and work with the Portfolio & Strategy Lead to produce recommendations and an improvement plan. Discuss outcomes with key business stakeholders and oversee any resulting activity.
- Ensure that appropriate accessibility, intellectual property and sustainability requirements are considered.
- Foster a culture where team members are engaged, innovative and take responsibility for their continuous learning.
- Coach and support development at both an individual and team level to enhance team capability and promote knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to (and ensure team members are adhering to) the Innovation & Investment Communities of Practice to support collaboration, team upskilling and to ensure the adoption of market insights and latest innovations.
The LoS Design Team is a creative team of learning designers, responsible for understanding the needs of the business and designing and curating or creating LoS programme content. The aim is to develop the most impactful, innovative solutions to meet learner needs and deliver clear business outcomes, leveraging the latest technological innovations where this enhances learning effectiveness.
