New job: Risk analyst needed for Climate Fund Managers
Boutique investment managers Climate Fund Managers (CFM) are in search of a self-starting accounting or investment graduate to fill a Risk Analyst position in their Governance team.
CFM is a blended finance fund manager dedicated to securing a sustainable future by investing across global emerging markets. The company provides financing solutions across the entire project lifecycle, namely: development, construction, and operational stages.
With offices in The Netherlands, South Africa, Singapore and Latin America, CFM believes in a world where sustainable investing and profitability are not mutually exclusive. Their vision is to structure cutting edge financing facilities around thematic areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, including renewable energy, water, sanitation, and oceans.
Therefore, the fund managers are looking for a graduate who shares their vision for a sustainable future to join their team.
Responsibilities
Control self-assessment (CSA) administration
- Engaging with internal teams in a professional and collaborative manner to identify, manage, measure and report risks and controls;
- Ensuring all action plans based on the CSA’s are attended to timeously and agreed action plan timelines;
- Continual review and development of the risk mitigating controls and procedures.
Incident reporting management
- Ensuring the incident management process is followed per incident;
- Ensuring all action plans items are met in agreed timelines;
- Prepare the risk reports such as, report distribution to depositary, regulatory, governance, and so on;
- Prepare risk report for the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee.
Depositary management
- Ensure timely submission to the depository, by gathering information from operating units.
Risk software
- Manage relationship with the software solution provider and ensure delivery of approved projects.
Requirements and experience
- Qualification: Business Science or BCom Hons with specialisation in accounting or investment management preferred (Additional qualifications such as CFA or FAPM, an advantage);
- Some relevant experience is preferable;
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite;
- Understanding of risk monitoring and management in Private Equity Funds and Manager;
- Microsoft Excel proficiency and an ability to interrogate and sort data is essential;
- Quickly understand business issues and data challenges in order to develop solutions.
