A vacancy exists at our Pietermaritzburg for a Planner reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.
Key Performance Areas for the position will include the following:
- Perform SAP transactions as required and within limits of authority and ensure data integrity at all times.
- Ensuring that customer orders are actioned and scheduled in production in order to meet deadlines.
- Ensure orders are placed on works timeously and that proposed dates are within prescribed manufacturing lead times.
- Planning priorities and distributing shop orders after every MRP run.
- Re-routing and rescheduling workloads on machines in the event of breakdowns, material shortages, bottlenecks or excessive sales order demand.
- Ensuring that shop order control systems are utilised, working and updated daily.
- Control of relevant documentation pertaining to planning and production.
- Works closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Despatch and Supply Chain to understand demand for products, material availability, expediting and machine availability.
- Ensure the general daily running and optimisation of planning and that all administration/reporting is done timeously within SAP PP functionality.
- Perform relevant tasks and duties as may be delegated or become obvious from time to time.
- Work closely with the Sales production alignment co-ordinator (SPA) to ensure that DDDP and OTIF targets are met.
The minimum requirements for this position are:
- A relevant qualification through PMI or relevant Diploma/Degree level or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 years planning experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in SAP is highly advantageous.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
- The ability to work under pressure and in a time-driven environment.
- Good service record, self-motivated and driven individual.
- Aptitude for figures and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-starter and pro-active.
