Our client, an international mining company, is expanding one of their flagship projects in the Northern Cape. They seek a Project Engineering Lead to assist their rapid growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be involved in all stages of the project, contributing to the mining design to ensure production in a safe and productive manner, participating in the analysis of proposed mining methods, overseeing major construction projects, managing several interdependent processes and activities, and balancing the demands of different priorities and situations on site. They will work closely with contractors and Section Managers, including infrastructure/utilities, to ensure the project development is on schedule, within budget, and within the scope of design.
The incumbent will also be responsible for implementing clear delegation of authorities for site implementation within the Production Delegation of Authority, reviewing inspection reports and payment requests to ensure that work is completed within specifications, budget, and conforms to all statutory regulations.

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should hold a tertiary qualification in Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mining with at least 10 to 15 years of solid experience in opencast and underground mining.
Extensive project management experience in the mining environment is essential.
The candidate must possess a GCC South African Mine Managers Certificate.
They must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer / Professional Certified Engineer.
Willingness to carry a legal appointment is required.
