Job Description:
A leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive and industrial batteries are seeking a Quality Specialist. You will ensure that our manufactured products comply with both internal specifications and those communicated by our OEMs. You will play a vital role in effectively addressing any out-of-control conditions, ensuring nonconforming parts are segregated, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to rectify processes promptly. Your expertise in root cause analysis will be essential for resolving product quality issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Science
- Certificate in Quality Assurance
- Quality Assurance Diploma/Engineering Diploma (preferable)
- Yellow Belt Six Sigma (preferably Green Belt)
Experience:
- 3-5 years in an OEM manufacturing environment (preferably Tier 1 or Chemistry Industry)
- 1-2 direct reports
- Understanding of IATF 16949 and Automotive Core Tools
- Familiarity with statistical tools and indices
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Automotive Industry quality standards (IATF 16949) and OEM-specific requirements.
- Verify and validate implemented improvements and new product launches.
- Conduct Layered Process Audits and support area audit findings.
- Enhance internal supplier performance and support the Fast Response Team in addressing defects.
- Supervise Product/Process Inspectors and maintain control plans.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis and monitor significant characteristics.
- Collaborate on defect reduction action plans and provide weekly reports to the QC Manager.
- Support customer complaint resolution and maintain a positive culture regarding health, safety, and environment.
