Job Description:
A leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive and industrial batteries is seeking a dynamic Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the success of our retail store. This role requires a strong leader with experience in driving sales, managing staff, and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retail Store Management (50%)
- Implement strategic plans to achieve sales and operational targets.
- Ensure merchandise availability, pricing strategies, and promotions are aligned with business objectives.
- Maintain store security and compliance with safety standards.
- Compliance (10%)
- Ensure adherence to all internal controls and legal regulations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing company policies.
- Customer Service Management (20%)
- Build and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Resolve customer issues promptly, maintaining high service standards.
- Staff Supervision (10%)
- Lead and manage a team including salespersons, store assistants, and other operational staff.
- Oversee staff performance, development, and training.
- Cost and Financial Control (10%)
- Monitor and manage store budget, ensuring costs are kept within financial guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce waste.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 6).
- 5 years of experience in Retail Sales or Marketing, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
Advantageous:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 7).
Competencies:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software.
- Ability to manage operations, solve problems, and plan effectively.
