Job Description
Our client has an opportunity for a qualified individual to join their team in the capacity of a Management Accountant. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and maintain costing processes and procedures
- Oversee the management accounting function
- Identify cost accounting risks, develop and implement mitigating strategies
- Implement and maintain sound internal controls
- Implement and maintain sound internal controls
- Interface and train users regularly regarding budget control and variance reports
- Oversee plant maintenance module and ensure accurate reporting at month end
- Report on variances between budgets, commitments and expenditure
- Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for area of responsibility
- Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities
- Facilitate and resolve conflicting issues or requirements
- Manage the designated area within time and budget
- Other related duties
Qualifications
- Honours Degree in Accounting or Cost and Management Accounting or Equivalent
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
Skills
- 10 years relevant financial experience, of which 3 years should have been in a Costing Role
- Knowledge of Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Proficiency in computerised financial systems (SAP)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Attentive to detail
