A Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing a company’s fleet of vehicles to ensure they are maintained, operated efficiently, and comply with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related.
- 5 + years experience in fleet management, logistics.
- 3 + years experience as a supervisor.
- Must have experience in supervising more than 50 vehicles (bakkies and trucks) in different locations across South Africa.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Good communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software and technology, as well as knowledge of safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations and performance of the fleet.
- Manage fleet inventory, including vehicles, parts, and equipment.
- Schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor vehicle performance and fuel usage to optimize efficiency.
- Evaluate and select equipment vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to reduce costs and improve operations.
- Keep accurate records and reports on fleet maintenance, expenses, and performance.
- Coordinate with other departments to support business goals and objectives.
- Analyze fleet performance and implement cost-saving measures.
- Prepare and present regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance, and expenses.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and insured.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement emergency procedures for fleet-related issues.
- Coordinate with emergency services and provide support during vehicle breakdowns or accidents.
