Business Development Sales Executive Western Cape
To play a pivotal role in identifying and developing new channels and growth opportunities outside the current unsecured lending offering. To lead and oversee the development of Asset-backed and Bridge Financing business and establish brand as a secured/asset-backed and bridge financing lender.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business management, communication or similar.
Minimum of 10-15+ years in business development and sales, of which at least 5 years in a senior manager/director role capacity and preferably within the secured and bridge lending industries.
Strong conceptual skills with the distinct ability to contribute at a strategic level and the ability to integrate BD and Sales activities with operational priorities and activities and obtain buy-in from all internal stakeholders.
Good experience in credit and lending dealing with SMEs and/or mid-corporate business clients.
Very good experience in sourcing, negotiating and structuring of asset-backed loan transactions.
Proven track record in negotiating and executing secured loan documentation.
Strong network dealing with SMEs and/or mid-corporate business clients.
Strong commercial orientation and business acumen.
Able to be adaptive within a constantly evolving environment and prioritizing your deliveries according to redefined “most value/simplest solution” outcomes.
Criteria
Strategic Leadership
- Design and lead an integrated business development and sales strategy and plan, in line with the overall business strategy, which includes establishment of a niche sales force, market research, competitive analysis, planning, execution and analysis.
Business Development
- Responsible for ultimately driving acquisition of new SME and mid-size corporate customers, lead generation and growth of the secured loan book.
- Develop and deploy a niche BD/Sales force to directly engage businesses to source new clients. Effectively expanding our strategy and intake sources from the current digital and ATL channels.
- Represent the business in public forums, networking events and other as necessary, as a face of the business.
- Identify opportunities and engage to source new partners, merchants, networks, banks, or other online lending platforms through which the company can grow its client base.
- Support and leverage the current affiliate/broker-network program. Cultivate (directly or through delegation to team members) relationships with potential affiliates and monitor performance of onboarded affiliates. Ensure consistent and quality support for all referral and business partners.
- Drive new and existing channel development to sustain business growth.
Project Management of BD, Sales, and Marketing related projects
- Drive all aspects of projects including meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, approval channels, and procedures, budgeting, campaign analysis, and monitoring procedures and stakeholder communication.
- Establish and articulate project scope, strategy and KPIs.
- Assess risks to the company relevant to this department and ensure they are reported on, monitored and minimized. Ensure effective mitigation measures are put in place.
- Ensure that all department activities are compliant with regulatory frameworks.
People Management
- Provide visible and clear leadership to the department and any team that you interact/work with, promoting a culture of high performance and customer focus.
- Provide mentorship to staff to cultivate skills.
- Regular reporting against department objectives and annual calendar.
- Manage (either directly or through delegation to team members) external marketing agencies, website consultants, designers and freelancers and ensure all relevant service providers deliver in terms of their agreements.
- Budgeting and financial management: Develop, manage and monitor the marketing budgets.
- Prepare updates, reports and presentations when requested.
Market Research
- Regularly provide field-originated market intelligence and feedback regarding trends, industry needs, and customer preferences that assist in marketing and planning of initiatives to develop both new and existing accounts. Utilise this research to propose new channels/directions/products that the business should explore to improve market share.
- Monitor relevant competitor activity and take appropriate action if required.
Marketing Campaigns and Communication Initiatives
- Manage the BD & Sales and work closely with Marketing team regarding campaigns within approved costs, quality and timelines.
