MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead and direct the nursing service in the hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Compile, implement and monitor the hospital specific nursing strategy.
- Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety.
- Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Manage the patient experience.
- Lead and manage people in the nursing department.
- Manage key stakeholder relations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 3 or 4 year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Nursing Management qualification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years professional experience in a tertiary healthcare institution; 2-3 years management experience in a tertiary healthcare institution.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Patient Safety management; Infection Prevention and Control management; Nursing Education.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Infection prevention and control.
- Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies.
- Clinical risk management.
- Management of staff productivity.
- Nursing functional knowledge.
- Auditing and accreditation processes.
- Human resource processes including employee relations.
