An innovative organisation that is passionate about using technology in education to pursue an outcomes-based intervention that can meaningfully impact learners in South Africa. They deploy online English and numeracy literacy programmes in underprivileged primary schools across South Africa. How you'll role
As the Instructional Designer, you will design and develop learning and training material to be distributed amongst teachers and facilitators. The goal is to facilitate stakeholders (facilitators and team members) in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner that serves the company needs.
What you'll do
- Articulate content development goals and create content that matches these goals
- Conduct research and collaborate with stakeholders to identify target audience's learning and training needs
- Design and develop content and assessments for facilitators and internal staff that are engaging and optimise learning
- Decide on the criteria used to judge stakeholders' understanding and develop assessments
- Update content as required to ensure that it remains relevant and serves the needs of stakeholders and the company
- Create supporting material/media (images, audio and video)
- Monitor the planned completion of modules on the Learner Management System and develop and run campaigns to ensure that stakeholders are engaging with the required content
- Align current and future content to the brand
- Maintain documentation and folders
- There are skills needed by the organisation that may be identified above and beyond what the role requires and these may be assigned to you as part of your role.
What you'll need
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- A qualification in a field related to advertising, communication, journalism, English, or graphic design is advantageous
- Knowledge of learning styles
- Knowledge of Learning Design models
- Experience with design platforms
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information
- Image, audio, and video editing skills
- Knowledge of Learner Management Systems

What you'll get
R30,000 to R35,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
