Location: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, Baker Street 30
To provide subject matter expertise and guidance to assess the potential financial impact of new and emerging regulations on the Financial Services industry and the identification and delivery of appropriate initiatives to fulfil the overall objectives and mandate of the Function with specific focus on Recovery and Resolution Planning. Ensure that the business response to high impact regulation is comprehensive and all high priority Group initiatives are identified and ownership confirmed.
Responsibilities
- Assess the potential financial impact of new and emerging regulations on the Financial Services industry. Provide advice and guidance to the SBG to ensure that the business response to high impact regulation is comprehensive and all high priority Group initiatives are identified and ownership confirmed.
- Facilitate the strategic positioning of SBG in the light of the significant impact of emerging regulation on the Financial Services industry and the imperative for banks and insurance entities to reposition themselves.
- Assess the extent to which the SBG corporate strategy reflects the pressure of regulatory reforms on the business model and operating structures, including the likely impact on client, counterparty, and investor behaviour.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Legal
Experience Required:
- 3-4 years: The role requires an individual with risk management experience within the financial services industry. A thorough understanding of BASEL requirements would be required.
- 5-7 years: Experience in banking accounting / financial reporting / controlling / risk management / risk reporting / regulatory reporting.
