Accountant Position
We are currently seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team in the fuel services industry. The individual will play a crucial role in financial management, reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in management accounting, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of management accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, providing insights into financial performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with operational teams to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business performance.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilize financial analysis and reporting tools such as Pastel to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring compliance with deadlines and maintaining accuracy in financial data.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial support and insights for decision-making processes.
- Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, preferably within the fuel services industry.
- Completion of articles will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, particularly Pastel.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing a team to comply with deadlines and maintain accuracy.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
