Our client in Kempton is looking for a Technical Sales Representative/ External Sales .
Job Objective
- Technical sales specialist, focus on sales of complex technical products.
- They typically target the distributors, end users, OEMs and Project Management Companies.
- The job involves extensive travel because the territories typically span many provinces with some customers in foreign countries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Find potential customers, follow up on recommendations from current clients, read industry journals and search the Internet.
- Do market research and provide feedback.
- Maintain and expand distributor network.
- Meet with customers and technical staff to discover what they need.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Negotiate contracts/quotations/sales orders and arrange for delivery.
- Periodically check up on customers to see how current installations are working and to offer additional services and products.
- Develop and implement product training programs for Customers/Employees.
- Periodically visit customers to assess market size and factors influencing the market.
- Compile visit reports.
- Quote Customers, do order confirmations, deliver and invoice Customers on SAP.
- Periodic (weekly) follow up on outstanding quotations.
- Follow up and expedite outstanding Customer orders, inform Customers of delays.
- Handling of Customer complaints and resolving conflict.
- Responsible for Customer satisfaction surveys.
- Provide annual sales and budget figures for all products and markets.
- Develop and implement Sales Pricelists for Key Customers.
- Build and maintain positive Customer relationships with Top 20 key Customers.
- Monthly e-mail Product Campaigns.
- Contribute to online marketing activities.
Qualification and Skills
- 3 Years Sales experience in Transmission Components/Brakes/Gearbox/Materials Handling.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years related work experience or trade (fitter and turner or equivalent) with 5 years related work experience.
