Wallace and Green is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Middle level Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join their team in their Durban office. The consultant should demonstrate technical excellence and progressive environmental consulting experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead / prominent role in delivering Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Programs and Compliance Auditing projects.
- Financial Management on projects.
- Water Use License Applications.
- Mining Applications.
- Feasibility / Screening Assessments.
- Environmental Compliance Auditing and Legal Compliance.
- Key client/account relationship management, participation in marketing and business development activities.
- Compilation and review of tenders and quotations.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- BSc Honours Degree in appropriate environmental field or equivalent (MSc advantageous).
- Minimum four (4) years environmental consulting experience in Impact Assessment, Water Use Licenses, Compliance Monitoring, stakeholder engagement / public participation, EMPr drafting, Mining Applications and Project Management.
- EAPASA and/or Pr.Sci.Nat Professional Registration.
- Thorough knowledge of NEMA, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and legislative requirements.
- Liaise appropriately with specialists as well as sub-consultants, clients and authorities.
- Must be able to meet deadlines, and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so.
- Well organized – able to plan, prioritize, co-ordinate and work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
- Code B Driver’s license, own transport and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
- Have the ability to source new work.
Salary range: Market related based on experience and interview discussion.
