LOCATION: South Africa, Somerset West
REPORT TO: Production Manager
KEY PURPOSE OF JOB
As part of a major growth strategy, a component and sub-system supplier to the
international satellite market is seeking a production planner, to provide support to the
production manager through scheduling of production jobs and by coordinating all
production administrative activities through the production process to ensure that all
production jobs are closed off in due time.
KEY TASKS
• Assists the Production Manager in the execution of projects by performing a wide
variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to the timely management of
production jobs
• Responsible for issuing production job sheets and related documents to the
production team aligned with the production plan
• Tracking production schedules and making sure that they are met by communicating
changes to the production team and the production planner
• Escalate deviations from the production plan to the production manager and planner
• Supporting the production team with the completion of tasks in the manufacturing
management system (co-ordinating thereof)
• Coordinate with the Production Manager to resolve control issues
• MOM – ensuring that the transaction reviews are completed on a regular basis and
that the operations are synced to Syspro
• Communicate with Production Management about working hours of the production
team to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively
• Responsible for requisitions, floor stock issue and material allocations for production
on Syspro and ensure it is handed over to the production team
• Responsible for ensuring that the stores team adhere to the kitting plan and to
communicate and escalate any deviations
• Other ad-hoc duties as required by the company
PREREQUISITES
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualification
• Degree or Diploma in Production Planning, Demand Planning, Industrial
Engineering or Supply Chain (or similar)
Experience & Knowledge:
• At least 3 years of production planning and or administrative experience within
a high-tech manufacturing environment
• Computer proficiency in MS Office & ERP systems
• Previous exposure to other production planning tools will be an added
advantage
• Syspro experience will be an advantage

• Self-starter who is confident, independent and can work without close supervision
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
communicate complex issues to varying audiences and levels
• Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure
a successful client experiences.
