JOB SUMMARY
The QA/QC Summer Student will assist the Quality Control Team in implementing quality control procedures and standards and support audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Support the Quality Control team in documenting inspection findings and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in reviewing project documents, including plans, specifications, and contracts, to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality control processes.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to deepen understanding of quality control practices in the construction industry.
REQUIRED SKILLS and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electrical or Mining.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel)
- Flexible to changing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated and a quick learner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Have reliable transportation as it is a field-based position.
- Able to successfully meet pre-employment alcohol & drug test including cannabis.
- Successful candidate must provide criminal record clearance from local RCMP.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.
- Must be fit for duty.
- Safety tickets required: H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS, WHMIS 2015
Travel & Schedule
- Working up to 12hrs per day; 14/7 rotating schedule.
- Travel Allowance and/or camp accommodation may be provided.
