Product Manager (Chinese Speaking)
Our client, an Electronic company, is currently recruiting a knowledgeable and experienced Chinese speaking Product Manager to join their team in the East Rand (Johannesburg) . The successful candidate will work with our client’s sourcing team and other key partners in China. The candidate will also collaborate with marketing, sales, and support to ensure the correct advertising, pricing, and selling to the correct channels.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Helping to develop and implement product vision and strategy in alignment with company objectives
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identifying product gaps and generating ideas to enhance market share and drive growth
- Regularly meeting with customer-facing teams to gather and analyse user feedback, shaping new product ideas and requirements
- Creating buy-in for the product vision internally and externally, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Implement usage tracking and analyse patterns to validate new feature requirements and optimize user experience
- Developing product pricing and positioning strategies to maximize profitability
- Evaluating promotional plans to ensure alignment with product line strategy and effective messaging
- Translating customer needs into product functionalities, working closely with development teams
- Collaborating with leadership to plan the product roadmap and prioritize initiatives
- Converting ideas into prototypes and demonstrate them to key stakeholders
- Working closely with sourcing teams to deliver products with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
- Keeping up with market trends and competitors to identify opportunities and threats
- Acting as an owner for the success of the product, driving initiatives to achieve strategic objectives
- Overseeing the development of product modifications relevant to market demands and packaging strategies
- Leading market analysis and strategy development, including point-of-sale (POS) strategies and customer-facing marketing initiatives
- Engaging with factories to ensure product quality, pricing optimization, and profitability growth
- Leading and managing a team of product developers to execute on the product roadmap and achieve strategic objectives
Desired Experience & Qualification
- 4-5 years of proven work experience in product management or similar roles, preferably with experience in delivering consumer electronics or related products
- Experience within the retail space is highly desirable
- Advanced level skills in MS Suite with advanced Excel proficiency for data analysis
- Proven track record of managing successful products throughout their lifecycle
- Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
