Job Summary:
The Engineering Services Manager will be leading and coordinating the activities of the Engineering Department including:
• Supervision of all Legal Inspections for Canelands Plant
• Developing, Analyzing and Coordinating Capital Projects
• Supervising the Uninterrupted Supply of General Services (Steam, Compressed Air Electricity, Water, CO2, Effluent and Solid waste removal to the focus factories, etc)
• Ensuring CPSA follows all Legal Requirements related to Safety and Environmental Standards
• On time and Budget Completion of CEB Projects as per Business needs
Main Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and implementation of a new process / projects / engineering technology.
• Drive an external vendor selection process.
• Implement multiple factory acceptance tests – improve upon the protocol.
• Complete multiple new equipment installation initiatives.
• Collaborate in factory restructuring initiatives and strategic business evaluation. Participate in the development of a site contingency plan.
• Develop and own a capital budget as well as lead a Cost Reduction Initiative whilst supporting FTG Program
• Identify & implement an opportunity for changeover reduction on one or more lines
• Develop a network with Legal, Corporate EHS, Quality and others Subs to benchmarking and standard processes
• Participate on a Global Sourcing Study for Raw Material, Equipment or Finished Product in order to be able to help into the CI Process in our Facilities
Managing Materials and Services
• Understands the relationship that operations, planning, logistics and manufacturing processes have on material and conversion costs. Ensuring there is no material wastage in the production and works towards reduction of materials losses.
• Applies the Asset Effectiveness Model to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Conducts Continuous Improvement Reviews to identify standard processes and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensures that CI processes support Quality and Safety goals within the area.
Cross-Organizational Collaboration.
• Focuses on the business with a Supply Chain perspective, leading one’s own production area as an integral component of the whole business.
• Communicates effectively with leadership to transfer information, request resources and ask for decisions.
• Develops and champions partnership to drive business results!
EHS and Quality Leadership.
• We lead by example and demand safe behaviors whilst driving awareness to sound environmental practices and dedication to EHS Standards
• Takes corrective actions in a timely manner to mitigate potential EHS or Quality incidents.
• Ensures alignment to Fundamental Safety Expectations (FSE).
• Responsible for the completion of monthly safety checklists as well as closure of findings from monthly walk about by management.
• Ensure equipment and personnel adheres to GMP requirements.
• Ensure that accurate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times by the service providers and visitors.
Supply Chain Systems & Analysis:
• Using analytical tools and business data to improve total performance of the Supply Chain. Understands the interrelationships of the five Supply Chain processes: planning, sourcing, making, delivering and product commercialization, with respect to overall performance.
• Uses Focus Factory data and analytical tools including SAP. Apply data from business tools and information systems to increase Return on Capital and Customer Service.
Business/Financial Understanding.
• Understands the Total Delivered Cost Structure of products and uses this knowledge to optimally control material and labor costs in the area. Develops and implements appropriate margin improvement programs.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years experience in Manufacturing/Engineering Environment
• A Bachelors or Equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Government Certificate of Competency in Engineering will be an advantage
• Solid understanding of Engineering Topics and Steam Generation
• Project Management & Leadership Skills (Financial Management and Control)
• Strong skills such as Communication, Results Oriented, Planning, Decision Making, Ownership, Accountability, Analytics, and Multi-functional Collaboration
