- As a qualified diesel mechanic, you must have workshop experience on heavy duty trucks and trailers/commercial vehicles.
- Consulting customers and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required.
- Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the mechanical/electrical issues.
- Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the result after suitable solutions.
- Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts.
- Repairing or replacing vehicle transmission, brakes, engines, and associated parts.
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
- Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
- Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a qualified diesel mechanic.
- Must have a driver's license.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Be driven, proactive, and reliable.
- Computer and manual diagnostic proficiency.
- Trade test paper is an advantage.
- Must remain in sober habits.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at various heights.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R10,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month.
