Job Description
This role is pivotal in shaping talent strategies that align with organisational goals and drive business growth, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance talent attraction, development, and retention processes. It is accountable for an integrated talent analytics and insights capability; employer branding; global talent intelligence aimed at critical roles and talent segments; strategies to define, attract, and retain talent in line with workforce plans and future skills; and talent sourcing channel innovation and optimisation (external and internal) across FirstRand. This role also collaborates closely with the Executive Leadership team to ensure alignment on critical workforce needs and future skills requirements.
Role Purpose
This role is accountable for the full talent identification, talent management, talent development, and talent retention analytics application, working in conjunction with the People Data and Analytics team to ensure data-driven decisions support the organisation's long-term business objectives.
Are you someone who can:
- Provide input to the overall Talent Acquisition and Talent Management Strategy and design functional plans aligned to the integrated strategy.
- Lead the development of new policies, processes, products, innovation, and breakthrough solutions in talent intelligence, channel optimisation, and employer branding.
- Actively partner with FirstRand brand and marketing stakeholders around employer branding positioning and intelligence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness of employer branding initiatives.
- Enable critical skills mapping/pipelining and conduct research and benchmarking.
- Manage and design effective talent databases and reporting capability.
- Lead the exploration and integration of AI, machine learning, and digital platforms to optimise talent sourcing and identification processes.
- Develop talent sourcing practices, lead innovation, and design standards and tools that support FirstRand’s talent objectives.
- Provide thought leadership, research, and benchmarking of leading Talent Attraction and Talent Management practices.
- Leverage global talent market intelligence to inform long-term workforce planning and talent strategies.
- Build Talent Analytics and channel optimisation capability across the group.
- Act as a liaison between Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Human Capital, and business leaders.
- Contribute to a culture of data-driven talent decisions.
- Use data to understand demand and drive hiring decisions.
- Generate insights from Talent Analytics to inform policy and implementation decisions.
- Influence the future and critical skills strategy for the business.
Qualification:
- Relevant degree in Data science/ Applied behavioural science/ Actuarial science.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools and advanced Excel skills are highly advantageous.
- Experience integrating talent analytics to drive diversity and inclusion is a plus.

- Skill application in a Human Capital/Talent environment.
- Experience in employer branding is preferred.
- Experience in executive and board reporting is preferred.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI) and advanced Excel skills are highly advantageous.
- Highly numerate and superior analytical ability.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and development of related strategy and frameworks.
- Innovative and future-focused in designing and delivering talent solutions.
- Ability to manage and report talent data.
- Experience in driving digital transformation within HR functions.
- Knowledge of project management and ability to apply agile methodology.
- Experience in multinational environments or managing global talent pools is preferred.
- Ability to facilitate and oversee knowledge transfer and capability building.
