Exciting and new expansion opportunities have opened up new positions within the company to grow the team. Specifically, we are looking for a very experienced Operations Manager to join us at Bushwise.
About the role
Bushwise is looking for a dynamic Operations Manager with extensive operational experience and advanced technical skills to oversee and optimise the daily operations of our premier safari guide training camps located in remote game reserves across South Africa. The ideal candidate will ensure the seamless running of our renowned field guide camps, maintaining high standards and operational efficiency in the heart of the wild.

Specific responsibilities
- Finance:
- Create & maintain operational budgets for Bushwise using advanced excel skills.
- Continuously looking to optimise costs and improve margins.
- Operations:
- Deliver on fleet & asset management.
- Implement systems to manage and track.
- Manage the maintenance requirements of the Bushwise camps.
- Successfully deliver on upcoming and ongoing project management requirements.
- Oversee the overall procurement for Bushwise.
- Ongoing logistics management for both students and staff.
- Health & Safety:
- Be the main responsible person for the overall H&S of Bushwise.
- Assist with any crisis management in a leadership role.
Personal attributes:
- You should be able and love to travel to the various camps across South Africa.
- You are someone that is solution driven with excellent problem-solving skills.
- You are someone who is confident and decisive.
- Excellent negotiator.
- Well-organised in your work and you love spreadsheets and tracking success.
Professional skills and experience:
- 5-10 years experience as an Operations Manager.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and G-Suite.
- 5 years experience in project management.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor others.
- Basic technical understanding of general maintenance.
- Proven track record of developing and executing large annual budgets.
- It’s important that you are a master at being organised in your work.
- Taking initiative and having the ability to multitask and be proactive.
