MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the incumbent will primarily (but not limited to) provide assistance to the Business Advisors. Additionally, the incumbent will provide advice and guidance in terms of small business development and support to small enterprises wanting to start a business by ensuring that all legal and other requirements to start successful businesses are adhered to. The incumbent will also provide information, training, referrals, and advice to all walk-in customers at branch level in terms of small business.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Provide administrative and facilitation assistance to the Business Advisors.
- Conduct all basic assessments with clients.
- Assist with outreach programmes when available.
- Utilise basic seda tools to profile and establish needs of clients.
- Screen clients for further assistance at seda.
- Facilitate the registration of the business with CIPRO.
- Refer the small enterprise to the Business Advisor in terms of growth, sustainability, and innovation requirements.
- Co-ordinate seda branch events and activities in consultation with a Business Advisor.
- Disseminate seda information to branch level stakeholders.
- Provide information and advice to walk-in small enterprises continuously.
- Refer walk-in customers/small enterprises to relevant seda employees or other seda partners.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- Matric (NQF Level 4), National Diploma (NQF Level 6), or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Production Management, or Business Management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- No work experience required.
PREFERRED MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Able to handle several tasks at once, good team player, and understanding of governance issues relevant to seda operations.
- Good understanding of the small enterprise development sector, good communication (written and presentation) skills, ambitious, and confident.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and e-mail).
- Driver's License.
