What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers Europe is looking for a Senior Risk Management Consultant to join our team in London.
In this role, you will be responsible for raising the profile of risk management, both within the company and externally. You are someone who recognises risk management as a core service and understands the marketing potential. This role operates under moderate supervision and does not manage others.
This role is eligible for a £2,500 new joiner referral bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.
Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.
What Will You Do?
Supports and develops the Travelers value added risk management proposition across the Professions portfolio.
Advises customers on risk management issues, by responding to requests for information and advice.
Coordinates visit requests from underwriters and proactively contacts in conjunction with fellow risk managers direct insureds (and non-direct cases via their broker) paying more than £10,000 premium to ensure they have been made aware of our risk management offering.
Visits customers- firms, either at their request or at the request of the underwriters, and prepares a report dealing with current risk exposure, claims history (if appropriate) and ways in which they could reduce risk. This includes advising the underwriters as to the perception of future risk that the firm may present.
Researches and prepares written materials, including Gazette columns, items for the solicitor's bulletin, and any other articles that may be requested, either in house or for external publications.
Researches, prepares and presents seminars, in-house to customers at their request, or for external bodies such as local Law Societies, or other organisations (e.g. CLT) as requested.
Researches, develops and prepares relevant materials (such as the Risk Management factsheets, best practice guides).
Assists the underwriters as requested with advice on legal or professional practice issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
University degree and/or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certification preferred.
Working knowledge of insurance/underwriting preferred.
Working knowledge of organizational and regulatory rules, policies and procedures and effectively employs that knowledge in day to day work activities.
Intermediate Relationship Management: Seeks out, builds, fosters and maintains productive relationships or alliances to meet goals and achieve objectives.
Basic Business Perspective: Uses knowledge of internal and external factors that impact the Lloyd's Market to make decisions.
Intermediate Analytical Thinking/Financial Acumen: Identifies current or future problems or opportunities, analyzes, synthesizes and compares information to understand issues, identifies cause/effect relationships, and explores alternatives to support sound decision making.
Intermediate Product/Technical: Demonstrates technical proficiency and application of knowledge commensurate to his/her experience.
Makes sound risk recommendations that are in the Company's best interests.
Intermediate Regulatory and Compliance: Understands, adheres to, applies and enforces Corporate policies, procedures and standards, and complies with Travelers' regulatory obligations.
