Job Description
As a Class 1 Tramper driver, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers throughout the United Kingdom. Your primary duty will be to operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations.
Key responsibilities include:
Undertake long-distance driving assignments, requiring a minimum of four nights per week away from base.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism while representing DPD during all customer interactions.
Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance with driving hours and rest periods.
Efficiently manage route planning and navigation to optimise delivery schedules and fuel consumption.
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
Accurately complete all required documentation, including delivery receipts and vehicle logs.
Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle's cab and cargo area.
Utilise secure company locations for overnight stays, ensuring the safety of both driver and cargo.
Demonstrate adaptability in managing varying workloads and potential schedule changes.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence: Candidates must possess a current and valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence, demonstrating their legal ability to operate large goods vehicles.
Extensive Class 1 Experience: A minimum of 12 months' verifiable experience as a Class 1 driver is mandatory, ensuring a thorough understanding of long-distance haulage operations.
Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card: Applicants must hold a valid UK CPC Card, confirming their commitment to ongoing professional development in the transport sector.
Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card: Possession of a current UK Digital Tachograph Card is essential, indicating compliance with driving hours regulations and digital recording requirements.
