About the opportunity: Ensuring the in-house capability of design, development, test, and corrective action on electronic engine management systems used by clients group Africa, to clients Group and international legislation requirements. Conducting Engine & Transmission Control Unit (ECU & TCU) calibration tasks on test bench and in vehicle. Conducting vehicle tests to ensure all clients requirements in terms of engine behaviour and vehicle driveability is met. Supporting component engineers, engine and vehicle durability test engineers and prototype build on ECU related topics. Interfacing with ECU/TCU Suppliers and clients Group Counterparts (Germany, Brazil, Seat, Skoda). Fault-finding, data analysis and problem resolution of control unit related topics. About you: BSc / BTech / BEng in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum 1 year relevant experience in an engine management, development or testing related environment. Knowledge of application software (e.g. INCA), measurements and fault-finding tools. Computer literacy MS Office, Matlab. Familiarity with emission control systems and legislation. Basic Knowledge of fuel properties and their effects on engine operation. Understand the concept of engine testing on test bench. Knowledge of project management principles. Knowledge of vehicle testing and diagnostics. Self-motivation, good time management, report writing and presentation ability. The ability to write technical reports and conduct technical presentations. The ability to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels. Code 08 Drivers Licence. A working knowledge of the German and/or Portuguese language will be an advantage. Able to travel for extended periods both locally and internationally.
