Welfare Catering Chef
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £28,163 - £30,060 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city providing catering, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
They have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
Their service is committed to delivering a high standard of service to their customers and in doing so investing in their staff and staff development.
The Role
They are looking for a creative professional chef with excellent leadership skills. You will be passionate about cooking and the people that you are cooking for.
You will be working over three sites where you will provide meals for elderly individuals who often have special diets and nutritional needs.
They are looking for a reliable and friendly person with a positive attitude to join their team in the welfare catering as a Chef.
Skills and Qualifications
- It is essential you hold a minimum NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking or equivalent.
- You must also have a minimum of 3 years experience of working within a busy catering environment.
- Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking (or equivalent)
- Positive and motivated nature.
- Have experience of supervision or leadership of a team.
- Can manage, nurture and motivate others.
- Can deliver high standards of meal production and service.
- Can demonstrate good relationships with stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines
- Excellent time management.
- Can demonstrate high standards of customer service.
- Can develop and introduce new ideas for menus and foodservice.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and is positive, innovative and solution focused.
- Have experience of working in a catering environment.
- A sociable and caring personality, with the ability to build positive relationships with the people they are catering for.
