Job Description
As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. This role requires a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Adhering strictly to agreed shift patterns to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Executing deliveries to HGV-friendly locations with precision and care.
Performing trailer swaps or overseeing live unloading and reloading processes, as per individual customer requirements.
Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed and maintained for each journey.
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to guarantee roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
Representing DPD professionally at all times, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanor with customers and colleagues.
Promptly reporting any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate authorities within the company.
Continuously updating knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in LGV operations.
Participating in mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and maintain necessary certifications.
This role demands a high degree of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of LGV operations.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
A valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
A minimum of 12 months Class 1 experience
A valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
A valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required
