Requirements
• Must be a born again Christian whose purpose is to further the Kingdom of God.
• Must have exceptional people management skills.
• Must be knowledgeable in animal and calf health.
• Must have knowledge of pasture management.
• Must be able to AI as well as admin around AI/heat spotting/vet visits. (Very Important)
• Must have own personal vehicle.
Duties
• Managing milking process (morning and evening and every second weekend)
• Maintain herd and calf health.
• Manage calf rearing (record keeping, tagging, dehorning, tattooing, branding)
• Manage dairy staff.
• Pest control (flies/ticks).
• Vaccination of all animals.
• Help with calving difficulties.
• Manage pastures (electric fencing, irrigation, fertilisation.)
• Veld management (fencing, electric fencing, water)
• Monitor feed rations.
• Record and report on all dairy activities.
• Identify cull cows.
• Organise selling of beef bull calves and cull cows.
• Handle labour issues.
