We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical operations and maintenance for our mining project in Carletonville. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of electricians and ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently in accordance with mining regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of electricians and electrical artisans
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Ensure compliance with South African mining regulations and electrical safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical infrastructure and equipment
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Review and approve electrical work permits
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize production downtime
- Maintain accurate records of electrical work, inspections, and incidents
- Develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives
- Manage inventory of electrical parts and equipment
- Provide technical guidance and training to electrical team members
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass medical examination as per mining regulations
- Valid Wireman's License or recognized electrical engineering qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mining electrical supervision
- Strong knowledge of South African mining regulations and electrical codes
- Experience with mining electrical systems including:
- Medium/low voltage distribution systems
- Motor control centers
- PLC systems
- Underground electrical reticulation
- Valid driver's license
