On-Premises and Azure AD Project Manager Opportunity with a Leading Global Mining Company (Contract Position)

As part of this esteemed organization, we are looking for a Senior On-Premises and Azure AD Project Manager to join their dynamic IT infrastructure team. This position focuses on managing and optimizing the companys identity and access management (IAM) ecosystem across both on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) environments. You will lead initiatives critical to maintaining secure, seamless, and efficient IAM solutions, supporting the global teams commitment to high operational standards and innovative, responsible resource production.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will take charge of diverse, high-impact projects that ensure the integrity, accessibility, and optimization of IAM systems, including but not limited to:
- Implementation and Administration : Oversee technologies such as Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, Azure Single Sign-On (SSO), Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and more.
- Migration & Integration : Manage and execute AD migrations of users, computers, and servers, leveraging both Microsoft and third-party tools. Support migration of Office 365 products and systems (Mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint) to cloud-based solutions.
- Microsoft 365 Cloud Services : Design and implement Azure AD, Azure App Proxy, Enterprise Applications, Exchange Online, and other M365 services, ensuring secure and compliant access.
- Device Management : Monitor performance across desktop, mobile, and peripheral devices, collaborating with system engineers for optimal configuration.
- Automation & Optimization : Utilize PowerShell and automation practices to streamline and simplify AD and AAD management processes, contributing to operational efficiency.
- Risk & Process Management : Leverage optimization and risk management techniques to meet stakeholder expectations, improve performance, and mitigate potential IAM risks.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:
- 5+ years of experience in Active Directory (on-prem and Azure) management, with a solid track record of successful IAM implementations and optimizations.
- Technical Proficiency : Advanced knowledge of AD management tools, PowerShell scripting, and automation. Familiarity with GPO (SCCM), Intune, and Intune policies is essential.
- Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Collaboration & Communication : Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and clearly communicate IAM solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications
Possession of any of the following certifications will be advantageous:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
