Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer
Brief Description of Job Purpose:
To manage the full bookkeeping function from source documentation to trial balance, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
Qualifications, Experience, Competencies:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 + Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification (e.g., B Com Accounting / Financial Management / Management Accounting)
Experience:
- Five years of relevant financial accounting experience with experience in bookkeeping up to Trial Balance
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., IFRS, FICA, GAAP)
- Understanding and experience of budgeting and financial accounting processes
- Proficiency in various accounting systems, preferably Pastel Evolution
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated with strong drive and energy
- Analytical and methodical thinker
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
