Ever thought about a career in Counter Terrorism Policing? Well, we have an opportunity for you to start your CTP career right here! We are a collaboration of police forces that help protect the public and our national security by preventing, deterring, and investigating terrorist activity.
Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is one of five Counter Terrorism Units (CTUs) within a National Counter Terrorism Policing (NCTP) Network. CTPNW manages and coordinates the operational counter terrorism response on behalf of the five North West forces: Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Merseyside.
CTPNW also houses a number of unique national CT capabilities that sit outside of regional operations and operate on behalf of CTP Headquarters. These national functions focus on the delivery of activities designed to strengthen the UK's response to the threat from terrorism.
Your skills could help protect the UK. With the ongoing terrorist threat, there has never been a more important time to be working alongside some of the best and brightest to help keep people safe.
A career in Counter Terrorism Policing (CT Policing) is like no other. Every day offers a variety of exciting challenges and exceptional opportunities played out on a regional, national, and international stage. If you have experience and enjoy considering a wide range of complex data in order to make independent decisions, then this role is ideal for you.
As a Practitioner in the Retain Review and Disposal (RRD) Team - based in the CTP North West - you will work to deliver RRD across the national CT network. Working within a busy environment as part of a brand-new team, you will make risk-based decisions ensuring records are reviewed and retained for a CT network policing purpose or destroyed in compliance with CT Policing's legal obligations.
Successful candidates will receive RRD training that will be both classroom and office-based. The training - which lasts 8 -12 weeks - must be completed in full before the role can actively commence. Therefore, please note that annual leave during this time will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
Work with us and you will be joining a world-class Counter Terrorism Policing network, and the team will have the opportunity to shape the future of RRD practice across the CT network.
In addition to fascinating work and talented colleagues, you'll find a range of benefits including:
- a competitive pension
- generous holiday allowances, increasing with amount of service
- flexible working options available
- flexi time scheme
- access to exciting opportunities within CTP
Due to the sensitive nature of the role, Developed Vetting is required before successful candidates can commence training. Please note that this can take 6-12 months. Information and guidance is available to support applicants during the vetting process.
