YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Ground & Rail Controller, to ensure the efficient, timeous and effective movement of cargo, minimizing storage costs. Manage and Co-ordinate the movement of containers nationally or Cross border.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Receiving instruction from CMA CGM.
- Ensure Transport orders are in place and rates match
- Filing of Intents and Export documents
- Arrange Rail Booking
- Monitor stacks
- Update Navis and move containers into Inland Terminals for rail loading if firm.
- Capture on TMS
- Pre-allocate with Transnet
- Ensure containers are removed from Inland terminals within free time
- Monitor the movement of the load from the start till the end of movement
- Send correspondence for any delays to the customer, including rail service disruptions
- Track load movements and provide daily tracking to customers
- Resolve any queries which may arise in the process of movement of the load.
- Send PODS to Customers after any delivery.
- Invoice the file & ensure timeous payment of rail account.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- A Minimum of 3-5 years in Transport Management
- Understanding of Transport operations, KPI management & project management, Knowledge of loading weights clearances
Education & Qualification:
- Diploma in Transport/ Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
Specialist Knowledge & Skills:
- TMS
- Expert knowledge of all regulations related to transportation.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people
- Business minded.
- Strong organizational/administrative, written, and verbal skills.
- Strategic Negotiator that is assertive and confident
- Strong team player
