Principal Accountabilities
Academic Delivery (40%)
- Keeps abreast of future focused educational trends and incorporates them into teaching practices.
- Implements the school curriculum and other teaching strategies to plan for engaging, relevant, and differentiated learning.
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons to meet the needs of individuals or groups of students.
- Enriches teaching and learning by including technology and engaging teaching practices.
- Sets tasks that challenge students and sustain high levels of interest.
- Prepares classrooms in accordance with lesson plans and 21st Century learning practices.
- Ensures effective deployment of classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Identifies enrichment and extension opportunities to support curriculum content.
- Provides meaningful opportunities to develop skills related to mindfulness and critical thinking.
- Collaborates and reflects with different members of the learning community.
- Provides academic support to individuals or small groups of students as identified through assessments.
- Shows ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and remains informed on current strategies and practices.
Academic Assessment and Reporting (20%)
- Assesses and records students' progress continuously and keeps records up to date.
- Meets academic standards as defined by Central Academics.
- Monitors student performance using data-driven decision making.
- Undertakes assessments as required by Academics Department.
- Provides feedback and reports for parents and Principals throughout the year.
- Participates in moderation and standardisation of formal assessments.
Student Behaviour Management (15%)
- Manages student behaviour by establishing rules and expected behaviours.
- Promotes personal, social, physical, and emotional well-being of students through mentorship.
- Provides guidance and advice to students and parents.
- Identifies students with barriers to learning and informs appropriate support.
School Brand Ambassadorship (15%)
- Demonstrates the Crawford International mission statement.
- Acts as a role model regarding work ethic and professionalism.
- Assists with additional offerings, duties, and events across Crawford International.
- Promotes the good reputation of the school and is available to market the school at events.
- Contributes to the professional development of new teachers as required.
- Submits articles for newsletters or school publications as requested.
- Monitors student behaviour and maintains expectations.
- Contributes to the Crawford International brand through active participation.
Administration (10%)
- Assists with plans for excursions and liaises with service providers.
- Keeps and maintains the learning space as a dynamic environment.
- Conducts inventory activities of consumables and equipment.
- Advises management if substitution is required.
- Follows annual and termly plans and advises if adjustments are required.
- Adheres to all processes and procedures pertaining to school operations.

- A proven track record of managing professional relationships.
- Professional time management is a minimum requirement.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) and PGCE/HDE or B.Education (FET/GET).
- Valid SACE certificate.
- Police Clearance.
Minimum Experience
- 3-5 years Teaching Experience.
- 3-5 years Subject Specialization.
Desired Experience
- Familiarity with IB curriculum and enquiry-based approach.
- IEB teaching experience and matric marking.
- First Aid.
