COMPANY AND POSITION SUMMARY:
Blouberg International School is the only international co-educational school on the West Coast.
Currently situated in the suburb of Parklands, we are flanked by the vast Atlantic Ocean with the vivid
backdrop of the majestic Table Mountain. We offer the British National Curriculum with international
benchmarks from Cambridge University. Blouberg International is part of IES Group, a network of 24

the needs of individual children with an international perspective and experience.
We are looking for a Financial Manager responsible for all financial reporting, including cash
flows, debtor’s reports, bank reconciliation, and budgets. The Financial Manager will report directly to
the Head of the School and the IES Group CFO, working together to ensure our school runs profitably. This position has 1 direct report in the form of a Financial Assistant.
CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS:
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and process vendor invoices and documentation.
- Manage payroll and reporting.
- Review vendor contracts/policies annually for accuracy and pricing.
- Maintain financial records and keep records up to date.
- Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
- Additional ad hoc admin responsibilities required by the Head of School.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of successful work experience in accounting.
- BCom degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Advanced Excel skills (including formulas and Pivot Tables, no VBA required).
- People management skills.
- Tech-savvy individual open to working with multiple/new software.
- SARS EMP201/VAT 201/Provisional tax calculations.
- Experience in multicurrency transactions (i.e. USD & EUR).
- Process-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Experience in the educational industry (PREFERRED ).
- Experience working on Ed-Admin/SAGE online/SAGE payroll (PREFERRED ).
