Our client, a leading, international manufacturing group is seeking a talented and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) / HR Manager to join their growing team. The HRBP will play a critical role in establishing the HR department, supporting management in hiring the team and shaping the people journey at the local production facility in Ballito .
Overview:
As the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will be responsible for establishing the HR Department and driving the people strategy for their new production site. As a member of the management team, you will help foster a positive company culture while providing both strategic and hands-on HR support across all levels of the organisation. This role will involve building strong relationships with business leaders, managers, and employees to ensure HR practices align with the company's goals and objectives.
Your contributions will be pivotal in creating a productive and supportive work environment, addressing HR needs across all functional areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- All operational HR activities along the HR value chain in cooperation with the management team including the supervision of personnel administration (oversee externally managed payroll, time & attendance, leave management).
- Set-up and implement HR processes, procedures, guidelines, and strategies in line with the regional and divisional team.
- Drive the adoption and optimization of HR Tools / Systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Assist the management team in developing effective staffing plans to hire the right people, for the right function, at the right time.
- Design, implement and refine the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Establish training programs that support employee’s skill development and career growth.
- Equip managers with the tools, skills and knowledge needed to build and lead their teams effectively.
- Develop learning pathways for current and future managers to promote internal growth and succession planning.
- Provide support & trusted advice in all HR related and labour law topics.
- Manage disciplinary processes internally / externally (CCMA).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- + 8 years onsite HR Operations management experience within a manufacturing site.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full HR spectrum, with both operational and conceptual experience.
- Proven experience and enthusiasm for building HR departments by developing and implementing HR processes and tools.
- Experience in managing CCMA cases.
- Leadership Development experience is an added advantage.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Structured, service minded, solution-oriented and able to work independently with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Zulu .
- Problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Market related.
